Want to compose your own music?

Forte Free music notation software - write music on the computer!

This version of Forte is completely free! It was specially designed for students, but can be used by everyone. This link will direct you to the download page.

I have been using various (paid) versions of this software since 1998. It doesn't have a lot of the fancy features of some of the more expensive music notation programs, but it has been able to do everything I needed. It doesn't take long to learn how to use it, either. You can find a 10-minute PDF tutorial here.

Manuscript Paper

If you're going to compose music, you should write it down! Go here for different kinds of manuscript (music-writing) papers.
